Could Mindfulness Meditation Help You?

Mindfulness meditation isn’t about stopping all your thoughts or completely switching off.

It’s about learning practical techniques that can help you pause, become more aware of what’s happening in your mind and body, and respond differently to the stresses of everyday life.

What Will We Explore During the Session?

This is a practical, supportive session with plenty of opportunity to actually experience meditation – not just learn about it.

Working with a busy mind

Learn what to do when thoughts keep popping up, your mind wanders or you find it difficult to switch off.

Different mindfulness meditation practices

Experience a variety of mindfulness meditation techniques and begin to discover which approaches work best for you.

Meditation for everyday life

Explore how meditation can help you manage stress, feel calmer, become more present and support better sleep.

Time to actually practise

Give yourself dedicated time to slow down and meditate, with guidance and support rather than trying to find the time to do it alone.

It’s not about doing meditation ‘right’

There isn’t one type of meditation that works for everyone. Part of the session is about experiencing different approaches, asking questions and beginning to discover what helps you.

Whether you’re starting, restarting or developing your mindfulness meditation practice, you can begin from wherever you are now.

What If I’ve Never Meditated Before?

That’s absolutely fine – you don’t need any previous experience to join us.

One of the things I hear most often is:

“I’d love to meditate, but I can’t stop my thoughts.”

You don’t need to.

Meditation isn’t about completely clearing your mind or learning how not to think. I’ll guide you through the practices and help you understand what to do when your mind wanders – because it will!

Everything is practised sitting comfortably on chairs. There’s no need to sit cross-legged or be ‘good’ at meditation.

Just come along as you are and give it a try.

Five reasons to book your space:

1. Discover what works for you

There are many different ways to meditate. Experience different approaches and begin to discover the techniques that suit you, rather than feeling there’s one ‘right’ way to meditate.

2. Give yourself time to actually practise

It’s easy to think “I really should meditate more” and then find that life gets in the way. Having dedicated time in your diary makes it much easier to stop, practise and give yourself some space.

3. Learn how to work with a busy mind

You don’t need to stop your thoughts to meditate. Learn what to do when your mind wanders, thoughts keep popping up or you find it difficult to switch off.

4. Start – restart – or develop your meditation practice

Whether you’ve never meditated before, haven’t practised for a while or would like to develop your existing practice, you can start from wherever you are now.

5. Experience it before deciding what’s next

Join us for this single session and see how it feels. If you’d like more support, structure and accountability afterwards, you’ll have the option to continue into the 8-week programme.

Not sure whether is for you?

Here’s what others have said about their experiences of our sessions:

“My only worry was that I wouldn’t be able to meditate as my mind would keep thinking of other things. Gemma explained that if this happens it is fine and I just need to let go of the thought and get back to focusing on the breath.

I realised that I could meditate and managed to do 3 meditations. I also love the idea of having a bedtime routine.

I loved the workshop and loved that we did 3 different meditations. I felt really calm and relaxed.”

Kelly Anne also said: “Thank you so much for yesterday. I enjoyed it and I slept so well last night.”

Kelly Anne

“I really loved the workshop. There was such a lovely ambiance and that made me feel relaxed and calm. Everyone was very friendly and open about their thoughts on meditation. Gemma made everything sound easy and gentle. It was lovely to hear other people’s experiences and that no question was silly.

I learnt some great tips and techniques to help me stay focused and switch off any distractions. I felt so relaxed, calm and pretty tired (in a good way) after the workshop. A really lovely experience and I highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking of attending any future workshops.”

Lesley

“Gemma is a first class coach who engages and arms her clients with strategies that enables meditation experiences and rituals for future use.

She provides a safe, caring sharing environment which makes me want to recommend her to others.

My previous experience with Gemma was through sport massage and Pilates. I am now looking forward to her guidance once again with classes booked; alongside implementing recent meditation skills learned.”
