Concerned about trying meditation?

It is common for people to be worried about not being able to stop thoughts during meditation. I think it’s really important to say the aim of meditation is not to empty the mind the aim of meditation is to train the mind to have space between thoughts. We will always have thoughts – that’s the way our brain is designed. The aim is to have thoughts and then be able to let them go, to not let our mind wonder or get lead off into one thought followed by another.

Personally I find meditation helps me to have pauses between thoughts, refocus and change my inner conversation to positive, calming and proactive thoughts. It helps me feel calmer, more focused and I also sleep better.

Not sure if the retreat is for you?

Here is what our clients say…

Just wanted to say thank you so much for Saturday. I had no idea what to expect but so enjoyed the day. Making the paper flowers was such a perfect start and totally absorbing. Thanks to your mum for giving such encouraging and clear instructions. I usually feel rubbish after attempting any craft activity but loved this! The rest of the day was so inspirational – learning to walk mindfully, meditating and the whole new experience of the sound bath.

It was really encouraging to be within such a friendly group. Everybody there made me feel so comfortable. I have come away inspired, more knowledgeable and with permission to focus on me!

Jill

I wasn’t sure what I was letting myself in for, but was looking for some relief from a very stressful time.

I enjoyed the retreat day very much and found it relaxing, thank you.

There was no pressure to do anything I would not be comfortable with, or make comments if I didn’t want to.

Lynne

“The calm quiet atmosphere and the sound, I loved the sound bath. I noticed a quieter mind, feeling calm and rested.”

Gay

“Excellent treatment with Gemma – our first Sound Bath – very organised, welcoming and brilliant experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new way to chill out and clear the mind!”

Alistair

“Gemma’s meditation was initially something I was not sure was for me as I would have to make time to try. Having participated in sessions of different meditation I found some sessions easier to relate to and put into practise. I felt calmer and more relaxed in my mind from meditating. Now I just need to practise more. Gemma was a brilliant, patient, professional guide and I would fully recommend her online sessions.”

Suzie

“I have really enjoyed this first step into meditation. Life is busy and I didn’t think that I would be able to switch off. Gemma takes time explaining the process and the benefits and then tries numerous different meditations. It is a work in progress to build this into my daily routine but I now see that I am sleeping better and feeling more settled in myself.”
