Step away from the busyness of everyday life and give yourself a whole morning to slow down, reflect and focus on what you need.
A gentle morning created for you
The year can pass surprisingly quickly.
We may begin it with plans, hopes or intentions, but everyday life soon takes over. Work, family, responsibilities and all the things that need our attention can leave very little time to pause and notice how we are actually feeling.
Perhaps you’ve been carrying more stress or worry than you realised. Maybe you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed or as though your mind is constantly busy. Or perhaps you would simply appreciate some time away from your usual routine to relax and focus on yourself.
Our October Relaxation and Rejuvenation Mini Retreat gives you the opportunity to step away from all of that for a few hours.
Through mindfulness, gentle guided reflection, aromatherapy and a deeply relaxing candlelit soundbath, you’ll have time to consider the year so far, reconnect with yourself and think about what you need during the months ahead.
There is no pressure to have everything worked out or to share anything personal with the group. You can simply take part in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
Finding calm as autumn moves towards winter
As the days become shorter and the evenings draw in, many people notice a change in how they feel.
You may have less energy, find your mood feels lower or simply feel that everything takes a little more effort. The darker months can also make it tempting to stay busy and keep pushing through, rather than recognising that your body and mind may need more rest and support.
Our October Mini Retreat gives you something calming to look forward to during this seasonal transition—and an opportunity to pause before the additional busyness of the festive period begins.
Through mindfulness, reflection, aromatherapy and the deeply relaxing candlelit soundbath, the morning will help you slow down, reconnect with yourself and think about how you can support your wellbeing through the autumn and winter months.
Would you benefit from taking some time out for yourself?
Our Relaxation and Rejuvenation Mini Retreat could be just what you need if you:
- Feel as though life has been particularly busy or demanding
- Find it difficult to properly switch off and relax
- Have been feeling stressed, anxious, worried or overwhelmed
- Regularly look after everyone else but rarely make time for yourself
- Feel physically tired but find that your mind continues racing
- Would like an opportunity to pause and reflect on the year so far
- Want to feel clearer about what you need during the months ahead
- Would appreciate some practical tools to help you feel calmer and sleep better
- Simply want to enjoy a relaxing morning in a warm, welcoming environment
You don’t need any previous experience of mindfulness, meditation, aromatherapy or soundbaths.
You don’t need to be good at relaxing or able to completely clear your mind.
Everything will be gently guided, and you can take part in a way that feels comfortable for you—even if you come on your own or have never attended anything like this before.

A whole morning to pause, reflect and reset
From the moment you arrive at the beautifully converted St John’s Place, the morning will be an opportunity to step away from your everyday responsibilities and focus on you.
Mindfulness and guided reflection
We’ll begin with a gentle mindfulness session to help you slow down, settle into the morning and become more aware of how you are feeling.
You’ll then be guided through a thoughtful reflection on the year so far—not to judge what you have or haven’t achieved, but to notice what has supported you, what may have been difficult and what you need more of as you move into the final months of the year.
There will be time to reflect quietly and make your own notes. You won’t be expected to share anything personal with the group unless you genuinely want to.
A sleep-focused aromatherapy experience with Shelley
Clinical Aromatherapist Shelley Baker will introduce you to a carefully selected range of essential oils and explain how their different properties may support the body and mind—helping you feel calmer, more relaxed and better able to switch off before sleep.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore the oils and choose the ones you feel naturally drawn to before creating your own bespoke sleep pillow spray to take home.
Tea and cake
There will be time to pause for tea and cake, chat with others or simply enjoy being in the peaceful surroundings of St John’s Place.
Coming on your own is absolutely fine. Our retreats are friendly and welcoming, and many people attend by themselves, while others choose to bring a friend and enjoy the morning together.
A relaxing candlelit soundbath
We’ll finish the morning with a deeply relaxing candlelit soundbath.
You can lie back, get comfortable and listen to the soothing sounds while feeling the gentle vibrations of the Himalayan singing bowls.
There is nothing you need to do and no special technique to learn. This is your opportunity to rest, allow the mind to quieten and enjoy being looked after.
People often tell me that they feel calmer and more relaxed afterwards—and that they sleep particularly well that night.
Create your own bespoke sleep pillow spray
Continue the feeling of calm when you return home
The relaxation doesn’t have to end when the retreat finishes.
During Shelley’s aromatherapy session, you’ll learn about a carefully selected range of essential oils and the different ways they may support your body, mind and emotional wellbeing.
Shelley will explain how scent can influence how we feel and how particular oils may help you:
- Feel calmer and more relaxed
- Feel grounded and emotionally settled
- Find comfort at the end of a difficult or demanding day
- Let go of some of the thoughts still running through your mind
- Create a more peaceful and restful bedtime routine
- Prepare your body and mind for sleep
This won’t be a one-size-fits-all blend.
With Shelley’s guidance, you’ll be able to smell and explore the different oils before choosing the ones you feel naturally drawn to and that may best support you.
You’ll then use your chosen essential oils to create your own bespoke sleep pillow spray to take home.
Your pillow spray can become part of your evening routine—a gentle reminder to pause, breathe and begin letting go of the day before you go to sleep.
It’s a practical and personal way to continue using what you have learnt long after the retreat itself has ended.
Your bespoke aromatherapy pillow spray and all the materials needed to make it are included in the retreat price.

Not sure whether the retreat is for you?
Here’s what others have said about their experiences of our retreats, soundbaths and aromatherapy sessions:
“I came in feeling overwhelmed, but left feeling calm, clear-headed and more at peace with myself. I realised it’s okay to do something just for me—and since the retreat, I’ve been less reactive, more present and a better mum and wife. The whole experience was so thoughtful—from the personalised touches to the chocolate cake! I booked the next one the moment I walked through my front door. Honestly, just go for it—you won’t be disappointed.”
“I enjoyed every element of the morning. After leaving the event, I felt more relaxed and more ‘capable’, if that makes sense—just more able to deal with everything life throws at you. Book it—it’s a wonderful way to spend a morning, meet like-minded, non-judgemental people and leave feeling brighter and more relaxed than when you arrived. And there’s coffee and cake too… there’s nothing not to love in my opinion.”
“I booked for self-care, self-love and to meet like-minded people—and it delivered. I left feeling calmer and uplifted. Everyone was so friendly, and the time flew by. It’s great value, really welcoming and easy to join even if you come on your own.”
“I have generally felt a lot calmer and more positively focused on what I want to achieve this year. I have also found it easier getting to sleep. I really enjoyed learning about aromatherapy from Shelley and creating a bespoke blend for myself, which I have been using every day.”
