I attended a beginners meditation session. It was very relaxed, informal with no pressure. The session was very informative and I enjoyed the meditations practised. I felt more relaxed and refreshed, and had a great nights sleep after. Would recommend and look forward to joining a session again.

I have really enjoyed this first step into meditation. Life is busy and I didn’t think that I would be able to switch off. Gemma takes time explaining the process and the benefits and then tries numerous different meditations. It is a work in progress to build this into my daily routine but I now see that I am sleeping better and feeling more settled in myself.

I have always been interested in meditation, I have a close friend who meditates a lot and have seen her meditate before a shift and I sadly had disturbed her which she was ok and calm about, but that’s fine I now understand ….

I felt I would not be able to meditate as my life was busy, I have a stressful job and my brain felt full to the brim and could not focus on anything else. Until I realised I started to become  very stressed , worried and anxious a lot in situations at work, I was not sleeping well and became very anxious to go to work and my body was starting to hurt.

Then Gemma posted a beginners meditation course, I booked the trial class to see how it was, I was a little worried as didn’t know what to expect or if I would be able to concentrate, I didn’t want to do it wrong and look silly – as when I have tried at home in the past my mind wanders with thoughts like ‘ what to have for tea, start preparing a shopping list, if my husband, children and family safe !?!? Etc

It was making me tired just thinking or not sleeping as thinking too much –

The trial session went well, I was amazed I could meditate ( only for a few mins to start with). I learnt to allow the thoughts and noise just to be there but that’s fine – I enjoyed  the session so booked the beginners meditation programme  and was looking forward to it.

The classes went well Gemma was so calm, explained everything well  in a soft clear voice allowing time for questions.

I was given access to the recordings which was easy to find and helped me with my practise .

After just a  few classes I started to sleep  better, my brain started to empty a little, I felt less  anxious and calmer going to work and dealing with tricky situations.

I really enjoyed the course and now can meditate anywhere for any length of time and it’s ’My Time‘ we work hard and lives are busy for everyone else and we must make time for us -we so deserve it  – Such a small amount of time to spare for a much needed everlasting healing of calm and brain space ready for the day everyday.

I decided to try meditation to help my feelings of grief after a bereavement, to help me sleep better, to quiet wandering thoughts in the middle of the night and to help me feel better generally. I was anxious at the thought of joining a group, I was worried about the technical issues and indeed if I could even begin to ‘meditate’.

I need not have worried, Gemma is lovely I felt totally at ease and yes I can meditate and connect to zoom! ! Meditation obviously takes a lot of practice but we tried lots of different techniques and some were better better for me than others. I was very emotional after the session and slept extremely well after an early night. I am trying to incorporate a meditation into my day every day but some days it’s just a micro meditation, or 30, whilst washing my hands! I am looking forward to meditating after work and to more sessions.

I decided to try the beginners meditation course because of the benefits of meditation/mindfulness. I have a busy stressful job and family life, I wanted to try and fibs something that I could do to help reduce anxiety, stress plus aches and pains.

I was open-minded about the course and yo trying different ways of meditating.

The course was very enjoyable. The group were very friendly and supportive.

The course was great way to explore different ways you can meditate and ways to fit it into your life. It was so interesting and I would not hesitate to recommend the course. I now have techniques I can use quickly when I feel anxious and I have felt a benefit from practicing these.

I suffer with severe anxiety, depression, plus other mental health issues. However much I try, I can’t settle to anything, someone had suggested Meditation before, but then I don’t think I was ready to try.

This time, I felt in the right place to try, knowing Gemma briefly quite a while ago, I knew it would help me, knowing the person who was running the course. It helped to know doing it online I could leave straight away if I needed to.

I found at first it was very difficult, just to get into the manner of breathing, this is something I have always found difficult. It took me a few weeks, the breathing at the end, was a lot easier, than had been at the beginning, of the course.

I find now that at times, when I need to calm myself, I just think in my mind for a few mins, say the word calm in my head, before realising, my breathing starts as I learned, and I’m not so anxious. Which for me has become a huge relief, to find something that helps.

I would really recommend, this beginners course, especially if Iike me, your new to Meditation. I myself would probably do a further course, in the future.

I signed up for a beginners course of meditation with trepidation!

I need not have worried as everyone was friendly and supportive!

When I began the course I was stressed and was not sleeping very well… The course introduced ways and tips that enabled me to relax…..and I saw a steady improvement as the weeks went along.

I am slowly learning to clear my mind, when needed, and my sleep pattern has improved immensely..

I still have things that stress me, but now feel that I am better equipped to handle that stress.

I have no regrets of doing the course…it really was helpful.

Gemma’s meditation was initially something I was not sure was for me as I would have to make time to try. Having participated in sessions of different meditation I found some sessions easier to relate to and put into practise. I felt calmer and more relaxed in my mind from meditating. Now I just need to practise more. Gemma was a brilliant, patient, professional guide and I would fully recommend her online sessions.

I decided to try the beginner’s meditation course as I struggle with achieving a good sleep pattern, in addition I get bogged down by thinking about things that I am facing which stops me from getting to sleep and at times, from functioning as I would like. My inner chat can be quite strong so I tend use the radio or music as a distraction which is sometimes helpful but doesn’t really help me manage my inner voice.

I was comfortable with trying meditation as I had done a small amount of meditation a few years ago so had an idea of what it was about but I wanted to learn more.

What has been really interesting has been learning about the different ways to approach meditation and exploring these to find out which ones suit me.

Since doing the beginner’s meditation programme and practicing at home between sessions, I would say that my sleep is generally better, plus I feel that I am able to shift my focus away from the things that are bothering me by using some of the meditation techniques taught on the course.

In addition I generally feel calmer and have noticed a reduction in my desire to snack, which is how I normally respond to stress.

I am learning that it is important that I make time for me and a few minutes or more of meditation can certainly be fitted into my day.

“I had thought a few years ago about trying meditation but never got around to doing anything about it. So after talking to Gemma I agreed to give it go. I didn’t really know what to expect but I was quite surprised that i enjoyed it.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and I really don’t sleep very well and some nights I can be up hourly and also with other health issues and the pandemic I have also developed anxiety about going out. I was happy to try meditation to see if it could help me with my sleeping or my anxiety.

After just the first session I was surprised that getting back to sleep was so much quicker and even getting to sleep was easier. I have included meditation into my night time routine and this has definitely helped me to get to sleep rather than laying there thinking about things and taking forever to drift off. I’ve now completed the beginners course and enjoy taking just 5 mins to myself a couple of times a day to make me feel relaxed and calm. Gemma taught us several meditation techniques which were all very relaxing and calming but I founds the basics more effective for me.

Its early days but I’m happy with how things are going so far and hopefully if I can increase my time each day this will aid my sleep and general well being going forward.”

Within your business what were your main aims you were looking to achieve by sharing meditation and / or sound therapy with your members / clients?

“I was looking to add a different experience for my Pilates members. Many of them had mentioned that they find it hard to relax sometimes and I thought it would be something they could really enjoy.”

How did you find the process of collaborating and organising your event?

“So easy! Gemma was open and engaging, quick in replying to me and we were on exactly the same page when it came to her understanding what I was trying to create.”

How did your members / clients feel after experiencing meditation and / or sound therapy?

“In awe! They couldn’t believe how beautiful the experience was. Most of them had never done anything like it before and were already asking to have another session before they left! Many of the members said they felt like they slept better, they felt chilled and some even said that they had never been able to meditate before until the sound bath experience.”

I have been to a couple of Sound Therapy sessions with Gemma, something about which I knew almost nothing. Gemma was well prepared and communicated really well about what the session entailed.

Having settled myself comfortably in the dimly lit room, I lay, with eyes closed and listened to the different sounds and felt the vibrations from the singing bowls. It was a really interesting and relaxing experienced.

I had time out from my scattered thoughts and felt quite chilled after each session, with an awareness of a sense of calm that was really pleasant. I am looking forward to my next session.
